We Got Our Proofs Session 1

We got our Christmas pictures done and got our proofs. Now it is decision time. We usually only get Selena’s pictures taken but we decided to do a family picture as well.

Random Photo Moments

I was doing dishes this evening after dinner. Things got very quiet so I came around the corner to find Selena sitting at my computer. She figured out how to open her favorite games!

She must have played all three games over and over again for the next hour or longer. Now that is concentration. She tried my solitaire game and though she knows where to put the cards, and how to count them backwards, she didn’t have the fine motor skills to drag them where she needed to put them and got frustrated, but she will play solitaire with me, and tell me where to move the cards.

Random Photo Moments

I decided to set my old laptop up for Selena to be able to play Purple Palace on. She loves to make the cakes on that game, oh and the matching game. She really is pretty good with both too.

Now that is concentration!

 

When I had ordered my wig before my cancer treatments we ordered a long blonde wig for Selena to play with, hoping that would keep her out of mine. It worked. She hasn’t played with it for a long time, but I caught her tonight doing stretches with the Sprout friends, and yes, she was a blonde!

She was teaching Mini how to pose for a picture.

Selena: “Now sit here Mini, Look at Grandma, Smile”

And yes, by the end of the day our living room looks like a cyclone hit it. Oh well she doesn’t have any other place to play!

Random Photo Moments/Bean Bag Fight

Last night we were playing bean bag toss. I had a friend make Selena some light weight soft bean bags. I set up a box to use as a basket, but Selena didn’t seem that interested. She decided it would be fun to start a bean bag fight with Grandpa. Oh they were having fun, so I grabbed my camera. Well, needless to say when Selena seen the camera she decided it was time to bomb Grandma with the bean bags. I was taking these pictures between bean bags getting tossed at me!

Look out now Grandma has all the bean bags! I just had to put the camera down and let Selena have it at this point! She was laughing so hard she kept exclaiming “I can’t laugh anymore!”

I also have to share Selena’s broken hair! We got up one morning to Selena crying. I went in to see what she was crying about to find her sitting on the floor just sobbing, she had in her hand a clump of hair. I asked her what happened and she informed me “My hair is broken!” We don’t know what she got her hair tangled in, her window, or a toy, we have no idea, but sure enough her hair was broken!

Random Photo Moments for November

Thank you to all of you who have shown some interest in this new Carnival! Now remember I will change out the linky on the first of each Month, so this will give an entire month to post your Random Photo Moments. I don’t know how often I will post pictures on this end, but as I do I will just move the linky along with us. Feel free to jump in at any time.

This week with Selena has been really interesting, her imagination is really taking flight, from playing Dr with her imaginary stethoscope and yes I am her patient, making up stories to tell to us and her dolls. It seems like there is never a dull moment in our home, and truly that is what a home should be like, our children should be able to express themselves, of course we have house rules and guidelines of what behaviors are acceptable , but it is a joy to watch their imagination and life skills develop.

The other night as I was doing up the dishes I asked Selena to get her books ready that she wanted to read when I finished the dishes. She ran with delight, and busily went to work. Upon finishing the dishes I joined her in the living room to discover this:

When I asked her if she wanted me to read all these books, she explained “No, This is my Book Walk!” Now I think she meant a sidewalk made out of books, but yes this extended from her book table clear across in front of our couch, to our other end table.

Selena like a lot of kids loves stickers. She will bring papers home from Sunday School just filled with stickers, and she always goes right to work to remove the stickers to share with us. She just doesn’t understand she can leave them on the paper to show us her “work”. Here she was having a little too much sticker fun!

Random Photo Moments

I have had a few of you interested in participating in this carnival. I also have received some input as to how often you would like to see it appear. After much thought on this part, this is what I have decided to do.

Since we are in our time of year, well Winter, we do not get the opportunities to get out and enjoy the nature much anymore. Once the rainy season hits here we face rain pretty much everyday, and when I am speaking rain, it is a rain like you can’t believe unless you are here. It is what many would consider a drenchal pour down but that lasts for days, it never ends, and on top of that it is a cold rain.  I have even had to come to the conclusion there will not be as many posts at Tree Hugging Tots that we will be participating in until Summer.  As for Open Ended Art we will participate in what we can. That is not to say I won’t stop by and see what the rest of you are doing.

I will be honest my last few posts for these carnivals have been a struggle since we were weeks ahead of the rest of you, they just were not as fun to post. I have been thinking real hard on the pumpkins and realize that I have nothing to post. We already did pumpkin pie, we have read our share of Autumn books, and now are looking at Winter. Selena has even lost interest in Pumpkins and has moved on to Squash, she wants a squash pie!

With all that said, I will be needing to be more creative here in the house. Selena and I will be looking for other ways to burn that energy off. That is how I came up with the idea for Random Photo Moments. I don’t know for sure how often I will publish this, at times it may seem weekly while at times monthly. With that being said, I will leave the linky open for the month, and change it on the 1st of every month. So anytime you see a post for Random Photo Moments please feel free to jump in.

The only thing I ask is that you link back to my site with your post, I hope to get a button here sometime soon! It would be wonderful if some talented mother out there would be so kind to help me with a button, I would sure appreciate it!!

Random Photo Moments! Would you be interested?

I absolutely love when I can catch Selena totally off guard and get that cute memorable random photo moment! I know we all have these moments with our children.

Here is Selena trying to haul a gate through the house. First let me tell you we use a gate to keep her in the house if we want to have the front door open, as Selena can open any door and unlock any lock. We also use a gate at night when she goes to bed otherwise she is up roaming the house all night long. The gate does come down after she falls to sleep, but this was the only way we could get her to go to bed and actually go to sleep! Anyway for some reason tonight she decided to drag the gate we use in the front door clear to her bedroom!

I was answering some email when I heard some noises and could tell Selena was up to something. I found her hauling the gate past the front door into the living room. I grabbed my camera immediately!

Here she comes, just packing that gate across the floor!

There she goes!

Now she is complaining that the gate is heavy!

She dropped it, walked on it, then picked it up and hauled it back to the front door!
