After Selena and Papa ate their breakfast and their clothing dried out, the three of them headed back out for some more snowy fun. It was fun to watch Papa and Selena having so much fun.
They walked all over the yard to see how deep the snow was in different areas. Selena told me when she came in she loved the snow but she didn’t like how her feet kept sinking down in it. She hoped Papa would find her a board to stand on, then her feet wouldn’t sink.
Pal had a blast with them, even though some parts of the walk he was dragging his belly the entire way. When they came back in Pal actually had a snowball attached to his tag on his collar that was about the size of a golf ball. By the time I could reach to grab my camera Papa had already cleared the snowball off his collar.
After coming in and having lunch and giving time for their clothes to dry out yet again, with assistance from my dryer. Papa invited Selena to go for a nice walk up the road with him. As I watched them return up the driveway, I let Pal out so he could meet them at the end of the driveway.
By this time the neighbor boy was out building a snowman so Selena made a bee line over to help him with that project.
He had fun playing with her for a while, having snowball fights, and just generally letting Selena have a blast. After he went in, Selena, Papa and another neighbor laughed, and made snowballs. Selena brought one up to the window and asked me for a bowl to put her snow ball in. You know I did just that. I no more got it sat down and she came with another one. The two put together looked just like a mini snowman. Pretty soon she came with another one that almost looked like the shape of a dog. While they were outside, I went to work decorating the snowballs she brought in. While I was doing this the neighbor fellow they were visiting with, was making a miniature snowman using toothpicks for its arms. When Selena brought that to show me, I had a huge surprise for her.
I guess you know that Selena was pretty pleased with her surprise and added the little snowman the neighbor had made for her. By this time though, Selena announced she had enough snow, well until tomorrow when we are expected to have more snow. We still have a couple more storms heading our way. They only predicted 1 inch for Sunday, we had 5 inches. They are predicting 4 more inches on Tuesday. We may just be snowed in before it is over.
I love those snowmen! It amuses me how most kids are so excited for snow, but by the time they've played in it for a day they're ready for it to be gone.
