I Am Back

Did you begin to wonder what happened to me? No, I did not fall off the face of the Earth, well I guess I did sort of! No, really I want to WARN all of you that there are some nasty viruses and NEW ones that have been unleashed. Those who are on Facebook be especially vigilant. I got hit with a NASTY virus on Christmas Day. I took my computer in to the shop and let them take care of it. I am back up and running, but still have to reset my computer to the way I want it, and get all my files back.

I CAN’T stress enough if you do not have an external memory then please use a program like Picasa or some other web storage for your pictures, believe me you will be glad you did. Thankfully I didn’t loose any of my pictures, so I really do encourage looking into some sort of web based storage.

Since it is going to take me a while to get my computer reset the way I want it, I am going to lay down the Geography/History linky for one week. Look for that to reopen again after the first of the year!

  1. I hear so many horror stories of facebook. I won't even go there!

I hope that you get everything back to normal soon!

  2. I've become leery of clicking like on anything that is not a big huge store that I recognize, and am trying to quit all of those addictive games. It's the games that get me.

Sigh. I've been crazy busy with Christmas and haven't had much time at the computer myself either.

  3. Trust me, I am sure you remember my "incident" with catching something on the computer. Bad experience....

  4. I assumed you were just busy with post Christmas stuff, but I'm happy you are back and that you were able to beat the virus for the most part. I like FB for connecting with friends, but I won't go near the games and I am picky about what I click on.

  6. How frustrating! Getting a computer virus is kind of like having a window smashed out on your car - just a giant pain!

  7. ugh, so frustrating. Glad you got it fixed. My husband is an IT guy so I always have "live in" tech support but even still when my laptop recently got a virus it took him 3 hours to work it out. Good tip on photo storage too. Happy New Year. Hope your computer stays healthy!
