stART The Best Pet Ever

Bestpet

When we first read The Best Pet Ever by Victoria Roberts I just knew a stART project was in the making. This is a story about a little girl who wants a pet so bad. She begs her mom all the time for a pet, then goes around to be creative to make her own pets from a rock to a balloon.

We used a plastic juice bottle and construction paper. I had covered the bottle with black construction paper and cut out a head including ears. I made a hole to slip it around the head of the bottle. I asked Selena what she thought her pet looked like and she decided a pig, so she finished her pet off with the eyes.

100_3695 Upon asking Selena what her pig’s name was she announced Wilber, I know that is a completely different story character, but it is her pig so she can name him anything she wants.

I am linking to stART at A Mommy’s Adventure and at Read Explore Learn at JDaniel4’s Mom.

  8. I LOVE Selena's recycled pig, and I think Wilbur is the perfect name:-). I always enjoyed Charlotte's Web, even if it was a bit sad at the end.
