Selena enjoyed Pinkalicious so much, that I was thrilled when I found Pinkalicious: School Rules a level 1 I can Read book at our library. Written by Victoria Kann. It is a delightful story about Pinkalicious going to school. While she loves so many things about school she also misses certain things from home especially her imaginary unicorn. Her teacher plays along with her little imaginary friend and turns her day in school around to be a very delightful day. This is a book I believe any child rather they go to school, or even to a babysitter would appreciate.
What Do Parents Do? (When you’re not home) by Jeanie Franz Ransom, illustrations by Cyd Moore is a cute twist on what children probably think parents do when they are not home. The parents do all kinds of fun things, I think things that children probably think would be fun to do themselves if they could. Selena and I sure had a good laugh from this book.
Hello, Puppy! by Jane Cowen-Fletcher was a book I picked up. First let me say though we have talked about getting a puppy, no we are not. Selena experienced what it is like to have a dog at her side throughout our entire vacation. Both my brother’s have dogs. Of course she figured she would love to have a dog herself. I picked this book up to explain all the work that goes into a puppy. It is a very cute and easy read book. While I don’t know that it changed Selena’s mind about wanting a puppy, I would recommend this book to anyone who is either thinking about getting a puppy or has a child who thinks they would like to have one.

ReplyDeleteThanks for joining WMCIR. I didn't know that Pinkalicious has early readers too - thanks for pointing out. We are taking a new Fancy Nancy reader each week from the library, and Anna enjoys those. Anna doesn't seem to be interested in getting a pet, not even after getting more familiar with my parents' cat. We read a similar book called "New Puppy", and she was horrified that puppies chew on everything :)
