When we woke up on Sunday morning Selena informed me that she wanted french toast. I told her she could make it. She looked at me a little surprised, but ran into the kitchen ready to go.
After we got the egg mixture mixed up she then watched as I finished making the french toast. We enjoyed a very good breakfast, but sadly I must add, I need to go buy a new electric fry pan, as mine has finally after 15 years decided to give up.
Then this afternoon since we were feeling a little bored, I decided to have Selena help me make cake cookies. Now I have never made cookies using cake mix before, so I had to find a quick recipe on the internet. The one I chose called for 1 egg, 1/4 cup water, and 1/4 cup oil. Then we added some candy sprinkles. I don’t know why I didn’t get pictures of Selena mixing the batter, nor helping to spoon them out on the pan but we did get pictures of her watching them bake in the oven and when they were done.
I do believe the cookies met with her approval. I think if I make these again though, I would try adding a little something more for flavor. What a nice way to spend a Sunday!
How cute. The one of her standing on front of the over should be used in a commercial. Its classic of kids anticipation when the cookies are baking:)

What a positively wonderful Sunday!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect Sunday to me. Much better than my Sunday of feeling miserable.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of her trying out the cookies. Anna also really enjoys cooking and baking, and I am glad that Selena is now big enough to help out in your kitchen - I remember you telling me that it's not exactly child-friendly place.
ReplyDeleteHow neat to get Selena involved in making breakfast. And, I love the last picture of her, too - so cute!
