When I received this book, How to Reach Your Full Potential for God, by Charles F. Stanley, I wasn’t sure if it would be a reader or a sit on my desk collecting dust book. As it turned out I enjoyed the book very much.
Charles F. Stanley discusses all the reasons we do not live to our full potential not only for God but in our everyday lives. He asks the one important question we all need to ask ourselves, “Are you living a settled life?” Have you just settled for the way your life is, the person you seem to be, the place you are at in your relationships, job, and mostly your relationship with God?
He makes such great points in this book, that God put us all here for a purpose, but many times we never take the time to ask God what this purpose is. Instead we wonder through life never truly satisfied with the things we are doing because we are not putting our energy on what God wants us to be doing. He points out many key obstacles that stand in our way of reaching our full potential.
The greatest point that stood out for me is the question he asks right from the get go, “What has God planned and purposed for You?” Have you ever stopped and asked God why He put you here? I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who just wants to understand how to live a full life and not just settle for where you are.
I love Charles Stanley. I used to wake up Sunday mornings to my mother listening to one of his televised sermons.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review of the book - it sounds interesting.
Sounds like a wonderful book and you are the second person who has talked about this book on a blog I read. Maybe that is a sign:)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a wonderful book! Such a great question at the beginning.. Why are we here and what has God planned for us! I might have to check and see if I can get it on paperbackswap :-)
