Excited About Exercise

Susana at My Family My Forever has started a linky to join her in exercising. Wow what a wonderful idea. Now this is something I need to get me motivated!

I use to do Yoga and Tai Chi. I started Yoga when I was in elementary school since I was into gymnastics and Yoga was a great way to stay limber. I picked Tai Chi up as an adult, as I heard so much about it’s benefits for flexibility and agility. Since my cancer though I have discovered that the radiation really damaged my hips.

I remember reading about a man who took a bad fall while mountain climbing that used Tai Chi to get himself back in shape for all the things he loved to do. He started out by doing Tai Chi while sitting in a chair. I have been telling myself if this man could over come back problems and do Tai Chi from a chair, then why can’t I over come the damage to my hips by doing the same thing. I just haven’t had the motivation to sit down and do it. I know Selena would love to try Tai Chi and it would be great to watch her doing it as well.

So Yes, Susana I am in with you. I will pull out my sweats, get my chair in the center of the living room, pull out my DVD’s and start doing the exercising that I have so missed this past year! Maybe Selena will even get camera happy and get some great pictures for us to share! I know I will get some cute ones of her.

Here are the two styles I will be working on:

TAI CHI Short

TAI CHI Long

TAI CHI Short Form with Terrence Dunn     and TAI CHI Long Form with Terrence Dunn

Come on over to My Family My Forever, and get share with us what exercise you enjoy doing. Let’s all get in on this and keep each other motivated!

  1. I am SO glad you are up for this!!

I have never tried Tai Chi, but have lots of friends who love it.

I can't wait to see how this goes and what else you do too:-).

    Thanks for linking up!

  2. I've never tried Tai Chi before either. I used to do some Yoga a long time ago when a lady had a show on PBS. Good luck with the workouts!

  3. I have tried Tai Chi many years ago when it was offered at the company where I used to work for. I admit that I could never fully get into it, because I am so clumsy. I think I am going with Yoga, but I still have to find a realistic time when I can exercise. Hmm...
