We are slowly returning back to blogging. If you missed it even Selena had to make her own post, you can see it here. She was suppose to be playing a game here on my computer. I turned my back just long enough to take a quick phone call. When I came back she told me she had typed her name on the computer. It wasn’t until later when I discovered she had actually posted it to my blog. I didn’t even know she knew how to do that!
We are slowly coming out of the testy behaviors that we were experiencing. Selena has been giving in to the fact that it is time to grow up, learn new things, and experience the fun of being 5 years old. We spent a lot of this time with time outs in her bedroom, which believe me she did not like at all. She didn’t like to think she had to sit in the middle of her bedroom floor until the 5 minute timer went off. Every time she got up and attempted to come out she got an additional minute added on to her time.
I am also happy to report that Selena is once again sleeping all night in her bedroom. There is no more getting up in the middle of the night to make her own bed on the couch. Along with that came the realization that she loves showers over baths now. It has been fun the past week to watch how she is finally settling into all the wonderful things that turning 5 can bring.
Selena did ask our Pastor if he would baptize her. I was totally taken off guard the other day, when she said something that could have been very hurtful if the person would have heard it. I explained what she had just said, and how it could have hurt this person’s feelings. I then asked what God says about that. She answered that it was a sin, so I then asked what do we do when we sin. Selena immediately prayed for forgiveness. I guess she truly is beginning to prepare for her baptism.
We go tonight to sign her up for T-Ball. Selena is not sure about this, she feels she should know how to play T-Ball before she starts. I feel she will figure it out that this is not the case, but that she will learn all there is to know as she goes along. Of course we know no matter the weather we have to be at all her practices and games, get the rain gear out! I think she will have fun though.
Anyway like I said I am making my way slowly back to blogging. There is still a lot on my mind, and times I do not know how to put my feelings into words. I just ask for continued prayers for my friend. The doctors are not very encouraging right now about her condition and want to remove her from life support, while the family still wants to hold on. Pray for wisdom for both the doctors and her family, as well as healing and comfort for DeAnn.
What a turbulent time you are having. I am sure Selena will love playing the game once she gets a hang of it. I think it will be good for her to spend more time with other kids - she seems to be craving more play time with peers - just like Anna. Your friend is in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI'll keep praying for you. I expect lots of pictures from the baptism
