Snowed In!

Yes, we are snowed in today. We could probably get out if we really needed to, but getting back in might be quite the challenge. We woke this morning to discover the following.

And if this wasn’t enough to find all this snow, the winds were blowing as well. The following was taken just as a gust of wind kicked up.

Now at almost 11:00 a.m. it is still snowing and blowing. The snow is adding up and drifting.

To give you a little better idea of how much snow we have, which I know some will laugh at since they can see much more snow then this, but believe me for around here we are breaking records. Pal can hardly get through the snow.

Again this shows how much the snow is blowing and drifting. This was taken early in the morning. Now, Pal won’t even attempt to go out in the snow, and stays on the porch, under my car, or under the shrubs where there is little snow.

I loved comparing this snow to the first snow we got on Monday.

This is the same shrubs right off our porch. I don’t think I need to tell you which one is from Monday and which one was taken yesterday.

  1. I know you're not really excited about all that snow, Debbie, but I do wish we'd get one storm like that here! My girls are dying to get out and build snow people, a snow fort, and go sledding! You can barely call what we have a dusting, and for the past several winters we've had so much snow. We miss it! (ok, my husband doesn't miss it a bit, but we girls do!!)

  3. We have been reading the Little House series and there are lots of descriptions of the snow storms. Your pictures remind me of it. Stay safe and warm. Someone your way must have been asking for a lot of snow!

  4. That is impressive. That looks like a good day to stay in the house with a nice warm fire.
