Christmas Day

Selena woke up to find this on Christmas morning. She was pretty excited and a wee bit overwhelmed. She didn’t know where to begin. I ended up giving her a little assistance by removing the cover to her brand new kitchen.

I told her about a week ago when she was making all sorts of lists of her wants for Santa, if she would sign one of the lists with “Love Selena” that Santa might just bring her something very special. She agreed and though her efforts came out “LOOE SELENA” I saved the list and fastened it to a very special gift.

I do believe this was the highlight of her Christmas presents. Your probably wondering what it is.

There you can see it a little bit better there. She got a Nintendo DS XI. She has played with it almost all day and absolutely loves it. Though we have all had a turn with it.

We had our friend here which truly made Christmas seem so much warmer, not that Selena doesn’t do that herself, it was just nice to have a little more family here. She brought Selena a couple of very nice presents. Selena was very excited over this.

She has so much food now for her kitchen. She will be able to cook just about anything. She received some very nice presents, and I am sure we will have an opportunity as time goes by to share some of the rest of our favorites.

For Christmas eve, I made Quiche. Kelly brought over the last Pirates of the Caribbean movie. As we sat and watched that the excitement really began to over take Selena. It was very hard to get her to go to bed. In fact in the middle of trying to get things set up when we thought she was asleep, who appeared but Selena. She was not going to go back to sleep for nobody until we were all done and she climbed in bed with Papa and myself and fell asleep between us. Thanks to Kelly who kept her in her bedroom while the little elves finished their job.

For Christmas dinner we had ham, scalloped potatoes, salad, corn, and dinner rolls. We had so many yummy cookies, and fudge that there was no need for desert. We had a very nice Christmas. Very exciting for Selena and for all of us.

What did Papa and I get? Papa got a full set of screw drivers and I got an electric can opener. The perfect gifts, and the perfect day!

  2. It sounds like perfect Christmas. I am actually considering giving Anna's kitchen away, since she never plays with it except maybe during playdates. I am glad that Selena is so excited about her presents.
