Geography/History

geographyhistory

I thought it would be fun to see if Selena could use her cards that we put on a ring and a puzzle of the Unites States to identify some of the States. We examined the picture of the State on the card, and made observations as if it was near water, an ocean, or other States. Then went to our puzzle to see if we could find them.

100_3774 The first State was Alabama. Selena was surprised when she lifted the State out of the puzzle to discover it did say Alabama underneath it.

100_3775 100_3776 100_3777 100_3778 We also found California and Colorado. There were other States we looked for such as Florida, New York, and then I tricked her by asking her to locate Connecticut. This one stumped her since it was so tiny on her puzzle. She had a lot of fun with this and I am sure we will find more uses for both the cards and the puzzle.

We look forward to seeing what you are all studying.

  2. What a fun way to learn the location of the States. I'll have to see if I can do something like this when DJ becomes interested in the geography of the United States. Thank you for sharing.

  4. This is a great puzzle and complementary activity. Right now Anna is only interested in her globe, but hopefully we will come back to maps one of those days.
