What My Child Is Reading

We had some things to donate at a discount store this week. While we were there we decided to go in and just take a look. I love it when I can find Selena’s cute little dresses that look brand new at such a discounted price.

We were looking at the books and I told Selena she could pick out a few books. She spent quite a while looking through all the children’s books. Pretty quick she squealed with joy and came up from the bottom shelf with 4 Curious George Books.

I couldn’t find pictures for them all, but the first one on top of the little stack she handed me was, believe it or not…

Playsbaseball I have to say if there is one title that will always catch Selena’s eye and keep her attention for hours, is any Curious George book by Margeret & H. A. Rey. She gets so much enjoyment out of reading the adventures of Curious George.

The other books she got in the Curious George books were:

  • Curious George Goes Hiking
  • Curious George Goes to the Aquarium
  • Curious George Bakes a Cake

As I stated in my post last night we just did not make it to the library again this week. I think this little find made up for that fact with Selena.

To see what others are reading in their homes come on over to Natalie’s at Mouse Grows Mouse Learns.

  3. My children enjoy Curious George books too. We have read all but the hiking one, and since we enjoy hiking as a family, I have to add that book to my library list.

  4. Sometimes visiting the discount store is more of an adventure than going to the library because it's like going on a treasure hunt. You never know what you'll find.

  7. I bet that baseball book really appealed to Selena with all of the baseball activities you have been doing with her.

I buy 99 percent of my books from used stores.

  8. Oddly enough I've never been a big Curious George fan, but it's always fun to find great finds like that when you're not expecting them.

  9. Thanks for joining WMCIR! We read a lot of curious George, but Anna is not a fan, "because Curious George is not listening and always getting in trouble". It looks like you "scored" in this store.
