I had some friends ask me about my stillness since we got home from vacation. I have been feeling so many feelings of contentment since we returned home. I had a great time visiting my home town and seeing my family, but I am just so content with being home.
Michael has suggested several times about moving back. Deep inside when he talks like this my heart stops and I get this knot in my gut. Move Back? To What? I know there are so many times when it seems I am complaining about the weather here where we live, but am I really complaining or is it just a matter of fact.
I woke up this morning feeling fresh and very content in knowing that I have made this my home. I do not have to answer to any of my family, this is my life, this is my home, and truly I love it.
Here are just some of the things I love about where I live:
These pictures were taken with in just seconds of each other, out the same window, pointed in the same direction. When I asked Selena to describe the clouds she said, “They move quickly against the blue sky.”
The Ocean that seems right out my back door. Yes, it is some 20 miles from us, but it’s there, it’s right there. Do you know how refreshing the air can be when the marine air comes in? It is chilly but it is oh so fresh, clean, and powerful.
The nature that is all around us. I love the trees, the greenery, the smell, and the overall feeling of knowing that I can just go out my door and be in this.
I have made this my home, and no I do not want to leave anytime soon. One thing I have learned through my life, is that no matter where you live there are good and bad sides to every place. To really make a place home, you must focus on all the things you would miss if you didn’t live there. All the things that make you feel at peace. Then you just accept the things you can not change.
I spent years dreaming of living either near the water, or in the mountains, well, I guess one could say I have found my home, I have the best of both worlds right out my back door. I am home!
It is good to know when you're home.
ReplyDeleteWise words...but after seeing your photos, I want to move where you are!! Selena is quite poetic in her description!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are content where you are. I have to admit that after living in three different countries and having visited many more, I would really like to stay here for a long time.
ReplyDeleteThat seems like such a perfect place to live. I love it.
