Sunny Day

100_3208

We woke up to a cold cloudy morning. It was so chilly that the heat actually turned on, and the thermostat was set at 50 degrees. Selena decided to come out from under her blanket to try some stretching exercises with me. We continued to learn to play Yahtzee, yes that is right, Selena is learning how to play Yahtzee, at least the top part to Yahtzee anyway. She is great about taking turns, understanding she only gets three rolls and then helps me to count the dice.

By noon the sun had popped out, the clouds disappeared, and with just a gentle breeze the temperatures outside actually warmed up to make for a pleasant day. Of course we had to take advantage of a day like today.  We gathered up our library books and walked to the library. I was very proud of Selena today at the library. Remember our last visit to the library, I mentioned that Selena was getting a little too comfortable at the library, and I had warned her if she didn’t behave the way she was suppose to she would have to stay home with Papa? Well, today I reminded her of the library rules, and she impressed me with how well she did. She stayed in the play area, or sat at the table and colored, helped me pick out a few books, then though she didn’t want to leave, she did help check out the books, learned a new skill of drinking out of the drinking fountain, then we walked home.

I just couldn’t keep her in the house though, since it was so nice, so we did go back outside for some play. We played on her little swing set, played ball, and even ventured over to check on the work at the neighbor’s house. Our neighbor was fixing something on his camp trailer, and he gladly allowed Selena to help with that.

As you notice I changed the appearance of my blog, it seems that where I had retrieved my background had to change where they park their images. I changed the code like they said to, but it was so low loading and at times didn’t load at all, so I decided to play around with the new template designer and see if I couldn’t come up with something on my own. I am not sure I am happy with the colors and may be adjusting them as time goes on, and might even try a three column template.

Well, that was our Thursday. I had hoped to do another section (remember we only have two more sections to go in our preschool workbook) today, but we the weather won out.

  1. I like the new layout.Your header may just need a little adjusting on the width. I am going to have change mine on Free Homeschool Printables too...what a pain hey. But I will probably just one of the new templates too.

I wish I could find how to add the twitter/facebook links that are at the end of each post in the new templates, for my older template. I'll keep looking. :)

  2. Your new layout looks fresh and inviting. It's always fun to mix it up and give your blog a makeover.

We're having lots of postcard blue skies here too and mild temperatures - perfect for spending time outside.
Sounds like you and Selena made the most of your lovely weather.

  3. Wow, 50 degrees? Really? We are still waking up to 80 degrees and going up from there during the day. Sounds like you and Selena had a good day.

  4. I don't think our weather has gone below 85 here, even at night. It's been crazy.

I do like the shade of pink you chose, it's soothing, aside from the whole change thing.

  6. I'm glad you chose outside play over the preschool lessons - you haven't had enough good weather to waste even a minute of it!
