I believe we are going to take a little break from things for a while. I hope to get some things blogged as we can get things done here, but Selena is not feeling her best. We are still waiting to see when we can get her in to see a GI specialist. The first one her Pediatrician tried could not get her in to see an actual Dr until the end of the month, so we are hopeful that Seattle Children’s Hospital can get her in sooner. Even on the laxative, Selena is not getting the relief she should be getting. We know there is something just not right. She does have her good days but mostly she is quiet and crabby, bloated and full. We get a lot of these type faces these days:
Not the cheerful happy Selena we are use to having. We are so thankful that she had a good day on Saturday, and did get out to play quite a bit in the sun, but then on Sunday she slept in until almost 9:00, now this is not Selena to sleep in that late. She doesn’t feel much like eating, so meals are a struggle, and her patience I am sure is running thin with the way she is feeling. She spent today lounging around with her pillow and blanket on the living room floor, occasionally getting up to sit beside one of us to have a book read to her. She just wasn’t her giggly, playful self.
Our hearts just hurt to see her like this and to know there is nothing we can do for her. We do know this has to get taken care of as soon as possible to avoid any damage being done to her only kidney, even having her on the laxative for this length of time is not good for her kidney let alone any of the bloating and fullness that could be cutting the blood supply off to the kidney. All we can do until we get her in is just watch and monitor her very closely.
Poor little thing, she must be miserable. Praying someone sees her quickly.
ReplyDeleteI hope the doctors discover the source of the problem quickly. We'll pray for their wisdom.
ReplyDeleteOh no, I'll be praying this all gets resolved quickly. Just know I'm a phone call away if you ever need to talk. I can always clean up the mess the kids make later on.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, healing and healthy thoughts coming your way. I hope they get it figured out soon. It is so difficult to see our babies not feeling well.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you all
oo hope she starts feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteI'll be thinking of you and Selena as you take this break. I certainly hope she's able to get in to see a specialist soon and that they have a quick remedy.
ReplyDeleteI hope she is feeling better soon. I know you must be so anxious to get her in and have her seen. What a blessing, really, that you know about her kidney at this point or you might just be waiting it out and not be as vigilant as you are about helping her. She is so blessed to have you! We'll keep praying for her!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about Selena's GI problems. I hope that you will see the specialists soon and they will get to the reason for this. It's really hard to see our little ones miserable. (((Hugs)))
