We had another great week of reading. Today though when I was gathering up our books for our post, I could not find them. I kept digging through our library books and reading table but they were not there. Selena hid them from me in her newly art drawer! For some reason she thinks if I post about her books, it means they will disappear. Funny how their little brains work!
Cloudy Day Sunny Day by Donald Crews, was a huge success here. With Spring here our weather can change daily if not sometimes hourly. Selena had fun reading about some of the different activities that the family in the book does on cloudy days, and then on sunny days. She made great comparisons to what we do on cloudy days and sunny days.
Bunny Day, Telling Time From Breakfast to Bedtime by Rick Walton, illustrations by Paige Miglio, was another huge hit this week. We both loved the illustrations, and the story was very cute. Selena loved finding the clock on the pages as we discussed the time.
This Little Prayer of Mine by Anthony DeStefano illustrations by Mark Elliott was by far Selena’s favorite book this week. She keeps it by her bed so no it is not a library book. She reads it every morning and every evening. I am not going to say much about this book right now, yes, I am teasing you. Look for the complete review of this book at My Book Corner Galore.
There were so many other books we read this week as well, but these three were the hits of the week. To see what others are reading visit Natalie at Mouse Grows Mouse Learns. Here’s an idea while your there join in and share with us what you are reading!
Natalie at Mouse Grows Mouse Learns has decided to try something a little different this week, by making this a Blog Hop. If you would like to share the books you are reading, please copy the code for the MckLinky into your post.
Thanks for joining! We had a "so-so" week this week. I have to look for #2 on your list - it also had glowing reviews from Leah. It's just that we have way too many new books lately, and I want to reduce the number of books to 15 a week, not to 30 as it is now.
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing Bunny Day somewhere else recently, I'm going to have to hunt that down. My kids are desperate to learn about time, and I might give in to them soon.
ReplyDeleteHow cute, hiding her books away. :)
ReplyDeleteWe really loved Bunny Day, too. But now we've moved on to Just In Time Max - that goes into telling time in more detail - though the illustrations aren't as pretty.
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty brilliant connection to make - you post and they go away. I'm getting mandates here about which books are "allowed" to be returned to the library.
ReplyDeleteSounds like some great books this week! I totally slacked on everything this week.. I am hoping to get back into a rhythm for next week!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to look for the 2nd book ! My daughter is interested in time right now, and tells me it's 10 o'clock all the time :)
ReplyDeleteThat last book sounds very interesting - I look forward to your review!
ReplyDeleteHello! I remember visiting you before! Feel free to "kill 2 birds with one stone" and link up your posts to Feed Me Books Friday anytime you'd like as well.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want to miss out on good book recommendation. That's so cute how she hid them:)
