Christmas Crafting

Selena has been enjoying many Christmas crafts this year. I still am wanting to do some more gingerbread men and snowflakes with her, I know we will fit them in before Christmas is over.

Papa has been getting some Christmas craft kits from a co-worker. the first kit I thought would be so cute, it was a snowman riding on a sled. Since it is made out of foam, Papa never thought not to wad it up and throw it in the bottom of his lunch box, so all we ended up with was a snowman.

My only dislike with this project outside of not being able to get the sled put together, (why would they think a child would be patient enough to wait for glue to dry while having to hold the runners on the sled) was the fact I couldn’t get any decent pictures since all the details are either very small or very light colored.

Selena had a lot of fun helping me put this little elf together. Again it was just a foam project, but unlike the snowman, it didn’t call for glue, all the foam pieces had sticky on the back of them. Selena was easily able to construct this one with a little help with the legs and arms. I would love to find more kits like this one.

  1. I like craft kits for quick DIY projects, but this is why I am not a big fan of foam kits that require gluing. Cute elf though!

  2. The elf is very cute. I hadn't thought about the glue verses sticky on the back foam - I'll keep that in mind if we pick up any kits in the after Christmas sales!
