On Friday Selena was pretty excited, she was going to her first ever party with the homeschool group. We had a good turn out with about 60 in attendance. On Thursday Selena and I spent the afternoon baking the treat that she would take to share with everyone.
Using a very basic sugar cookie recipe we made red, yellow and orange Autumn leaves. I just happened to remember I had the Autumn cookie bin that we put them in.
Once at the party Selena found another little girl that was about her age. They seemed like they were joined at the hip from the very get go. I didn’t think to get permission to share pictures on my blog, so I am sorry that I can’t show some of the cute things Selena and her did together. They ate together, had their faces painted to look like twin kitty cats, bounced in the bouncy house, played games, did arts and crafts, and never left each other’s side.
Selena was so surprised to see her Awana leader there. She ran up and told her “Miss N. I love you!” She then asked her to paint her face for her.
She really made a pretty little kitty especially dressed all in black with just the splash of pink. The most important part is that Selena got to meet new friends as well as I got to meet new moms. Selena had so much fun she didn’t want the party to end or to come home. I can see where this year is off to a great start for Selena. Between Awana and the homeschool group I believe it is going to be Selena’s year to find herself, friends, and really have a lot of fun!
It is so nice Selena found someone her own age to be friends with.
ReplyDeleteYEAH! Those are all good things to find.
ReplyDelete60 people is a great turn out. What fun!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a great party. I think it's awesome that Selena is making friends so easily. I noticed a huge difference in Anna this year - she is really connecting and wanting to play with others.
