We have been having very humid weather here, even when it’s been rainy everything just feels damp and very humid. Today we woke up to a beautiful sunny day, with the humidity high it was really quite warm outside. It is like over night the leaves suddenly decided to fall from the trees, so yes, we went out to collect our autumn leaves.
Couldn’t have asked for a better day to venture out. Selena was in heaven looking for leaves.
Then she spotted this! Oh what fun! I believe this is the first year since we’ve lived here that I have actually seen this many leaves laying on the ground at one time. I suppose a lot of that has to do with the fact we haven’t had any strong winds.
You can just about see that Selena’s basket is getting full, but we didn’t stop here!
I have to ask our neighbors what type of tree this is, it has the prettiest big berries on it. As you can see Selena was just three steps ahead of me, through out our entire adventure. She was suppose to be posing by the tree.
We found a lot of mushrooms, everywhere we went. Again I had to warn Selena not to touch them only to turn around and discover my warning was a wee bit too late. Thankfully I had grabbed the hand sanitizer before we headed out.
This picture just because I wanted to compare it with our Autumn leave collecting from last year.
I just realized that these two pictures were taken in almost the same location, maybe only about a foot apart. Wow how she has grown! Now we are off to figure out what we will do with our treasures.
It's awesome that you can enjoy a warm and sunny fall day. We plan to have some leaf hunts of our own in a couple of weeks - most leaves are still on the trees here.
ReplyDeleteI know finding changed leaves on the ground, that have not been turned to mush by the rain, has to be a fall treat in your area - what fun!
ReplyDeleteWow what a great pile of leaves, we don't really get leaf piles like that, it's such a shame.
ReplyDeleteWe don't really experience fall (autumn) not in the traditional sense, I do wish we did. I love leaves laing around like that.
