I tried all week to get a picture of Selena copying her name or at least the letter S in her name. Every time I got near her with the camera she would stop. Finally tonight I got a picture of it.
She does this over and over again. She skips most of the lower case letters but l, i, j, you get the idea the easy ones. So I thought maybe I would do her name in all upper case, she still only traced the S, but hey it’s a start.
She did make her own question mark tonight as well, and was so proud of herself!
For right now I've just been teaching mine the uppercase letters. I read an article that says this is easier to learn because you only really have to teach 4 shapes: big and little stick, big and little curve. It seems to be working pretty well so far.
ReplyDeletewhat a great job! You are such an awesome Grandmother - :)
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of doing this on the Doodlepro.
ReplyDeleteso cute!! Love using the magnadoodle for practice!
ReplyDeleteYou go Selena!!
ReplyDeleteCaleb did not want to write until he was 4 years old. Then he just decided he would. I tried to encourage him to do so before and all it did was frustrate him. So I just stopped and waited. But he would trace anything. So the Magnadoodle is a great idea. He also loved the dry erase board and writing in salt with his finger. I just saved the salt in a big ziplock and used it over and over again.
