She Did It!

100_1933

This morning Selena finally figured out how to pedal her bike. She has been working on this concept since Christmas. I was fearful that she would get frustrated, but not our Selena, she is definitely a determined little girl at everything she tries! We do have to help her get going with a little push, but then she rides it clear across the living room floor into the dinning room.

100_1934She then turns around and heads back to the living room. It is hilarious to watch her because after we push her and the bike starts to loose its momentum she is working so hard to keep it going with the pedals until it finally comes to a stop. She turns around to see how far she got, and get this, here is her little conversation!

“Yay! Give me my ribbon!” she runs over and hands me an invisible ribbon that I have to pin on her. Then she says, “My fireworks Mama, give me some fireworks!” So I throw my hands in the air and sign Hooray in sign language and make hissing noises as if fireworks are going off.  She dances around, then back on the bike she gets to start all over again!

I keep thinking, look out Grandma, when the weather gets nicer and we move the bike outside, your not going to be able to keep up with her! What did I do?

  1. You & I should get mopeds to keep up with Bubby & Selena this summer! Though Bubs has yet to get the pedal thing down on his new trike. Congrats to Selena!

  3. We're lucky that we live on a cul-de-sac, so it's a clear dileneation of where they can go with their bikes. Maybe you can say she can go 4 houses away and no further? I remember my Mom did something like that when I was young.
