"B" Bigger and Smaller Awanas

We started our Unit on the Letter "B" today along with the concept of "Bigger and Smaller". Selena did real well with her workbook pages, but is still hesitant about writing her letters. We did get the straight lines for the "b" though. It is just a confidence thing with her and I know before long she will have it mastered.



Saturday, Grandpa and her practiced cutting with the scissors. I saved all the little pieces of paper that Selena had cut. We started this project by picking out the Bigger piece and she glued it to the paper, then we picked out a Smaller piece and kept getting Smaller as we went along.

She is always so proud of herself!

This year she gets to start Awanas. Normally they don't start until they are 3, but since I am going to be working with the older girls, Selena gets to start early. For those of you who are not aware of Awanas, it is a program put on by many churches. Kids come from all over to learn about God, memorize bible verses, and practice what they learn through fun games and activities. This year Selena will be in the Cubbie program. The Mascot for the Cubbies is a Bear, so I thought that fit our "B" study quite well. Selena made her own Cubbie Bear to help her memorize her verses. She did very well placing the eyes where they were suppose to go, the Yellow dot is a button if any of you are wondering. Then the heart stands for "Your Word I have hidden in my heart" Psalm 119:11

Her first verses are: I John 4:10 "God loved us and sent his son" Romans 3:23 "All have sinned" and Romans 5:8 "While we were sinners, Christ died for us". Along with the Cubbie Moto "Jesus Loves Me". Selena has all but Romans 5:8 memorized, I am so proud of how fast she is picking the verses up. The struggle will be to get her to say them to her Awana leader, she can be shy at picky times.

School is over and Selena proudly displays her work!
