I feel like this has been the shortest shutdown of my blog ever. Just as I chose to stop blogging for awhile, life had a different plan for us. Oh the changes can sure come quickly and be very unexpected. I am not sure I will continue to blog here much but am thinking of a new blog that I hope to get designed here soon now that I have found myself with so much time on my hands. Why do I have so much time on my hands now? Your probably wondering since raising a 6 year old can be endless, as well as homeschooling, keeping up the house, and finding time for the husband and yourself. Well, let me just say this quickly, can I say it quickly? Well here we go.
Tuesday was the first day of public school here. Selena sat on the couch looking out the window watching as all her friends went off to school. Now anyone who has followed my blog for very long knows we seldom see sadness on that sweet little happy face. The sadness was so tremendous that tears even filled her eyes. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know what was going on in her head. Not for one minute did I doubt what she was feeling or thinking. We discussed it a bit, and when I finally said that I would call the school and talk to the Principal to see what we could do, the sadness disappeared and the happiness again returned to that little face.
With a diagnosis faxed in from her doctor, and a discussion of our plan here at home, we now have the Principal and school staff on board to make this a successful year for Selena. We all know it will be a bit rocky at first as things fall into place, and we realize we still may have to put a 504 plan in place to provide he support for Selena. With all that said she started her first day of school today. She was not a bit nervous as we got up to get ready, not once did she worry about being late, or mention anything that might stress her out.
I will keep you all informed as to how school is going for Selena, and how the transition is going for me. Oh and as I mentioned, yes, I have a plan for a new blog, I will be giving you more details with links as I move forward with that all new adventure in my life.
I hope it goes well!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you were able to meet her needs. I am looking forward to your new blog.
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie this is huge change. Best wishes for Selena. Looking forward to hearing more and reading your new blog.
ReplyDeleteI really hope that this time it will work out better, Debbie. I think that Selena will benefit from being with other kids and experiencing other teachers. I wish you and her the best of luck and will be following your adventures both here and on FB!
